Who We Are
Our Life and Vows
Given to God:
Life as a Daughter of Charity is animated, first of all by the love of God and nourished by personal and communal prayer. We are ordinary women who commit to live:
Community life is one of our basic supports. Mostly living in small communities it is where we can experience together love, joy, growth, refreshment and peace.
It is faith-filled, challenging and calls us to live creatively the values of the kingdom in today’s world.
For the Service of the Poor:
We commit ourselves to live faithfully in the spirit of our founders, St Vincent de Paul and St Louise de Marillac by:
- fully embracing the values of the gospel
- reviewing our services according to the changing needs of people who are poor, and
- responding to new needs as they arise.
As a Society of Apostolic Life, we make simple vows renewed annually, allowing us to choose again our commitment to God through Vows of: service of the poor, poverty, chastity and obedience.
